Esprima is no longer maintained, and it does not support the latest JavaScript features in ES11, as Espree does.
- **New Linter Integration:** Introduces `src/js/_enqueues/vendor/codemirror/javascript-lint.js` using `espree` for parsing and error reporting, replacing the dependency on `jshint` and `esprima` scripts.
- **Script Modules:** Registers `espree` as a script module and leverages the `module_dependencies` argument in `wp_register_script()` to ensure `espree` is available as a dynamic import.
- **Editor Settings:** Updates `wp_get_code_editor_settings()` to use ES11 (ECMAScript 2020) defaults and synchronizes JSHint settings from `.jshintrc` for compatibility.
- **Editable Extensions:** Adds `.mjs` to the list of editable file extensions for plugins and themes.
- **Deprecations:** Marks `esprima` and `jshint` script handles as deprecated.
- **Build Tools:** Updates Webpack configuration to bundle `espree` as a module and use the new local `javascript-lint.js`.

Enable `download_url()` to fetch and verify file types if the URL does not contain a file extension. This allows URL downloads to handle media endpoints like istockphoto.com that use file IDs and formatting arguments to deliver images.

It is recommended that for every option it is explicitly set whether to autoload it or not. This changeset updates relevant `update_option()` and `add_option()` calls.
Note that the `$autoload` parameter is only needed for `update_option()` if the option is potentially not present yet, i.e. the call will pass through to `add_option()`. Since WordPress core adds the majority of its options to the database during installation, only `update_option()` calls for dynamically added options need to be modified, which is what this changeset does.
As part of revisiting the autoload values for dynamically added WordPress core options, this changeset modifies some options to no longer be autoloaded, since they are only accessed in a few specific places that are not relevant for a regular request. These options are:
* `recently_activated`
* `_wp_suggested_policy_text_has_changed`
* `{upgradeLock}.lock`
* `dashboard_widget_options`
* `ftp_credentials`
* `adminhash`
* `nav_menu_options`
* `wp_force_deactivated_plugins`
* `delete_blog_hash`
* `allowedthemes`
* `{sessionId}_paused_extensions`
* `recovery_keys`
* `https_detection_errors`
* `fresh_site`
An upgrade routine is present as well that sets those options to no longer autoload for existing sites.

Replaces `trigger_error()` with `wp_trigger_error()`.
The usage of `wp_trigger_error()` avoids generating `E_USER` family errors unless `WP_DEBUG` is on. In doing so, users should not see these messages in normal production.
Notes:
* Removes `E_USER_NOTICE` when passed as an argumnent, as it's the default error level.
* An empty string is passed for the function name when its name is already in the error message or does not add value to the error message.
* Externally maintained libraries are not included.

If organizing uploads into month- and year-based folders, uploading an attachment to an existing post should store the file in `wp-content/uploads/<year>/<month>` based on the post's publish date. This is in line with the behavior in classic editor / the media modal.

`ZipArchive` can fail to validate ZIP files correctly and report valid files as invalid. This introduces a fallback to `PclZip` to check validity of files if `ZipArchive` fails them.
This introduces the new function `wp_zip_file_is_valid()` to validate archives.

This introduces the following new filters which wrap the process of unzipping an archive:
- `pre_unzip_file` - Filters archive unzipping to allow an override with a custom process.
- `unzip_file` - Filters the result of unzipping an archive.
Both filters pass the following:
- `string $file` - Full path and filename of ZIP archive.
- `string $to` - Full path on the filesystem to extract archive to.
- `string[] $needed_dirs` - A full list of required folders that need to be created.
- `float|false $required_space` - The space required to unzip the file and copy its contents, with a 10% buffer.

`str_starts_with()` and `str_ends_with()` were introduced in PHP 8.0 to perform a case-sensitive check indicating if the string to search in (haystack) begins or ends with the given substring (needle).
WordPress core includes a polyfill for these functions on PHP < 8.0 as of WordPress 5.9.
This commit uses `str_starts_with()` and `str_ends_with()` in core files where appropriate:
* `$needle === substr( $string, 0, $length )`, where `$length` is the length of `$needle`, is replaced with `str_starts_with( $haystack, $needle )`.
* `$needle === substr( $string, $offset )`, where `$offset` is negative and the absolute value of `$offset` is the length of `$needle`, is replaced with `str_ends_with( $haystack, $needle )`.
This aims to make the code more readable and consistent, as well as better aligned with modern development practices.

Adds a check to the start of `copy_dir()` that the destination directory exists and attempts to create it if it does not.
An error is returned if the directory can not be created, either due to a permissions error or the parent directory not existing.

The terms "roll back" and "rolled back" are used in user facing strings since [55720]. These termes are not that clear for novice users and may be difficult to translate in some locales. This changeset replaces "roll back" with "restore" and "rolled back" with "restored" or "not applied" depending of the context of the screen.
